SPP/APR Reporting Requirements for School Districts

Sampling

The United States Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) allows states to use sampling for certain State Performance Plan (SPP) indicators. When sampling is used, a description of the sampling methodology outlining how the design will yield valid and reliable estimates must be submitted to OSEP.Ìý Viva88collects data from a statewide representative sample of school districts on SPP Indicators 7, 8, and 14.ÌýÌý All school districts provide data on each of these indicators distributed over a six-year period, with the exception of New York City (NYC) Public Schools which reports on these indicators each year. For SPP Indicators 11, 12 and 13, the Viva88Education Department uses a monitoring cycle of one-sixth of school districts representative of New York State, with the exception of NYC, which reports on these indicators every year. This monitoring cycle ensures that data from all school districts are monitored within the SPP 6-year period.
