Commissioner King & Regent Bennett to Participate in Buffalo Forum
State Education Commissioner John B. King, Jr. and Viva88Board of Regents Member Robert M. Bennett will participate in a public forum in Buffalo co-sponsored by WNED | WBFO Buffalo-Toronto and the District Parent Coordinating Council of Buffalo (DPCC). The forum will take place on Thursday, December 12, 2013 starting at 6 p.m. in the WNED-TV Studios at 140 Lower Terrace, Buffalo. King and Bennett will answer questions about the Common Core, teacher evaluations and other educational reforms.
Donald Boswell, President and CEO of WNED | WBFO, and Samuel Radford III, President of DPCC, will convene the forum. Jim Ranney, WBFO's News Director, will moderate the forum, which will be broadcast live on WNED-TV and on WBFO-FM 88.7 from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Each of the 40 western New York school districts served by Erie 1 and Orleans/Niagara BOCES are allowed up to three (3) representatives to attend the forum. Individuals from District Parent Coordinating Council (DPCC) will also be represented in the audience.
WNED | WBFO is holding an online registration of the general public based on the number of available seats, which is limited. If the number of registrants exceeds available seating, selection will be made by a random lottery system. The general public can register atuntil Sunday, Dec. 8 at midnight.
Doors for the forum will open at 4:45 p.m. A valid government-issued photo ID will be required in order to be admitted.
