The Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages (OBEWL) of the Viva88Education Department (Viva88) presents this next webinar in its 2025 Professional Learning Series:Ìý Presentational and Interpersonal Communication for Classical Languages - Part 1.Ìý This webinar is offered free of charge for world language educators and administrators working and studying in Viva88educational institutions.Ìý 1 hour of CTLE credit offered.
Webinar description: ÌýBuilding on the previous Classical Languages webinar on Standard 1, Interpretive Communication, we will dive into the two output standards: Standard 2 - Presentational Communication; and Standard 3 - Interpersonal Communication. Participants will explore ways to create engaging contexts for students to share their proficiency in the target language in Presentational Writing and Speaking, as well as Interpersonal Speaking. We will consider a variety of Presentational and Interpersonal Strategies integrated in the context of thematic lessons.

Webinar presenter: ÌýDavid Pellegrino has taught middle and high school level Latin and Spanish for 33 years and recently retired from Pittsford Mendon High School. While teaching full-time, he was the department leader of the World Language Department at Pittsford Mendon High School for over 20 years. Over the course of his career, he has presented many pedagogical workshops and continues to do so both at the local and national levels. He is currently the treasurer of the Classical Association of the Empire State.
